At the recent NIBA Executive meeting it was agreed that at the 2026 Irish Championship contest in Armagh on Saturdays the 17th and 24th October 2026 that there will be new open sections for Community type bands on both contest day dates. These Community type bands are made up of all types of players, most of whom have never played in a competition type band but are keen to receive an adjudication from a top line adjudicator. No marks or prizes will be awarded but the adjudicator will give an indication of the standard the band is achieving.
The NIBA rules will not apply to these Community band sections. The Executive Committee have made this decision after representation from bands at this level. If your band is interested please come along. Please request an entry form from the Contest Secretary at rjw5577@gmail.com. The entry forms and contest information will be available from the end of June 2026.
